Alaska is the largest state in the nation, in size it is more than double the size of Texas. One would think that there would be a lot of vehicle traffic, but the state isn’t nearly as densely populated and the most often used mode of transportation is via small plane.
The state uses a lot of fuel, and to offset the costs there is a fuel tax. However, some residents might qualify for a fuel tax on their annual taxes, or be exempt from paying it altogether.
All homes heated in the state qualify for tax free fuel, as most homes there are heated with propane or other types of fuel.
