Some Facts About Delaware
Delaware is home to one of the most recognized symbols of pioneer days, the log cabin. However, the log cabin originated in Finland, and it wasn’t until Finnish settlers arrived in the mid 1600’s that the first log cabin was built in the United States.
The state has preserved one of these cabins over the years and displays it at the Delaware Agricultural Museum.
The state most recently published a list of more than 100,000 owners of unclaimed property, the property is not real estate such as homes but stocks, wages, refunds, uncashed/undeliverable/unclaimed dividends, and interest.
The list has names and addresses of people from around the world and will remain online for one year at Delaware’s government finance website.
