Mardi Gras Anyone?
Aside from its long and rich history as one of the most fought over states in the nation, Louisiana has become better known for Mardi-Gras, football, and the French Quarter. The Mardi-Gras festival season begins each year on January 6th (King’s Day), and ends on Ash Wednesday.
Tax Amnesty in Louisiana
The state has recently launched its tax amnesty collection program that allows residents to fulfill their tax obligations and settle their tax debts with the state and gives a waiver of all penalties and 50% of the accrued interest on the accounts. As of December 2013 the state had collected approximately $435 million in back taxes and audit monies.
